Default Father kills man sexually abusing his daughter

As a father of a young girl, I say the father did the right thing.

Charge him with manslaughter and suspend the sentence.

Sheriff: Father kills man sexually abusing his daughter - CNN.com

Quote:
A Texas father caught a man sexually assaulting his 4-year-old daughter and punched him in the head repeatedly, killing him, authorities said.

The father was casually acquainted with the alleged abuser, said Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon.

Neither has been publicly identified.

The girl was left inside the family's house during the social gathering, while other members of her family were tending to horses, the sheriff said.

This is a sick, sick world we live in, ladies and gentlemen. At least there's one less creep walking the Earth...

This is Texas, dude....

Asked whether they would press charges against the father, the sheriff responded, "You have a right to defend your daughter. He acted in defense of his third person. Once the investigation is completed we will submit it to the district attorney who then submits it to the grand jury, who will decide if they will indict him."

he didn't act as judge and jury. he acted in instinct. we don't know how severe the beating was, but i doubt you would have much restraint if you walked in on your 4 year old daughter being touched by a stranger.

Their aren't many details because it's a cover up for a crime of passion - father murdered the pedophile. I'm not going to pass judgement on whether it should of happened, but that's what happened. I might have done the same thing.

The Sheriff; "in defense of keeping the man away from the daughter he struck him in the head multiple times".

So a man who worked for the father grooming horses gets caught molesting the daughter (despicable), and instead of being embarrassed, guilt-ridden, he continues to try to molest the daughter forcing the father to beat him in the head in self-defense of his daughter?

Highly doubt it.

I wonder what was more traumatizing - the sexual assault or seeing her dad beat a man to death....with no details...who the fuck knows...? I wouldn't like to be the judge in these types of cases.

Wow, some strong comments on here. Father comes in and see's a man molesting his daughter, I don't really think he needs to justify his Judge and jury status, he had a pretty solid bit of evidence, unless of course you wanna use the "she led him on and desewrved it" argument.

It's a crime of passion, and guess what, he certainly will not be sitting in an electric chair. This is such a rare case that you cannot lay any sort of pre-meditation on him. And for the guys sayingit was "alleged", the little girl was already to the hospital for an examination, it wasn't alledged anything from what I read, it was what it was.

Its a sad situation, but I can tell you this, i would never, ever, call this guy out for what happened, and quite frankly, those of you who are, need to think about why? Are you just grasping at shit we all already know and trying to be devils advocates? If the man didn't die, if it was just a beat down, what would you say, the actions were justifyable?

or would you prefer he just let him finish up and then calmly ask him why he did it when he came out? I dunno, I wouldnt mind being the judge on this one. I'm sure the DA won't be working hard to get this guy cooked, and I am also sure that no jury in the South will wanna put this guy away.

How do you even know that the man was sexually abusing the daughter?

Unfortunately - his fate might rest in his own daughter's hands. From what I've read, she's the only other person who was there.

He lives in Texas. People there get imprisoned for riding their bikes on sidewalks.

I knew a guy who had been molested as a child, and he attempted to kill a dude that he suspected was molesting his child. The thing was - he was wrong. His imagination understandably got away from him. He did have lots of money and a good lawyer so he never spent a day in jail, but worked as an actor in some huge box-office films. If you can pull off living in the lap of luxury and paint yourself as a victim, then you've got the justice system by the balls. It would be interesting to see how this situation turns out.
