Eglinton Town Center incident

Well after watching our beloved Raps beat the Piston for the third time this season (by the way that is a franchise first for the Raps). My wife and a couple of friends went to see AVATAR at 7:00 pm at the Eglinton Town Center. Great movie, but has been overhyped a bit, but still entertaining and amazing special effects.

Anyway, after the movie we couldn't leave by the front doors because of an incident. When we come around to the front their are about 10 cruisers, City TV, CP 24 and SIU unit and the whole front of the theater and some of the parking lot was taped off. Apparently around 7:30 p.m. a man came out of the theater with a gun and police shot him, he was DOA at the hospital.

A very surreal experience being that close to such a violent incident. We heard no gunfire in the theater so we had no idea what was happening outside.

Don't worry the government has things in control.

The banning of guns is moving forward swiftly, soon only police and the military will be allowed to carry them.

The Firearms act does not ban guns, it just requires that they be registered. And the government has spent years trying to kill the act altogether, but they can't figure out how to do it while not losing a ton of votes in Quebec. As a compromise they've opted to waive fees which has made it insanely costly.

Ironically the dude was from Quebec.

The rules are much stricter now, that is the point. I think they banned registration altogether, so this will force even more illegal activities. In then end they have the justification of putting more people in jail just by changing laws to what they want.
