Well they can use media rooms there too. Its about removing risk, period. You aren't solving the planets social and moral short comings in the change rooms of pro sports, so remove the potential if it bothers everyone so much when something is said. Or, suck it up, and admit the potential was always there for a player, or for a reporter, to offend someone.

as i said, it's so hopelessly paternalistic. the idea that these gentle flowers called women must be protected makes me sick to my stomach. they are grownups. they can deal with it, and so can the men. people need to be way less puritanical about this stuff.

this isn't about gender. slicing and dicing access based on cocks or cunts is just so silly. give access or don't.
I like this. This... I like.

Men in WNBA locker rooms? D.C. Sports Bog- Dan Steinberg-

Apparently NCAA tournament as well; male reporters are allowed in.

There are controll processes involved. "Designated times" etc. The blog points to the fact that it's the choice of players whether they want to be buck naked in front of the media.

It is Bjjs, and I kinda already thought this but wasn't sure about the women's side. Its not really important to me, the men/women thing. For me it's the fact you have people I a place that you feel should be private for more than just nakedness. If the potential for conflict is removed... No conflict. Have a designated media area for players as they leave, as well as the already existing press conference. I think athletes should be left the fuck alone after their games while they unwind and get ready to go.

It's part of a routine - in 30 minutes the doors are open to the media. So if you're shy - clean your junk and get your clothes on before they come in.

This is actually a non-issue - which is why the focus of this is Don Cherry, not the female reporter or the Chicago Blackhawks.

The players want to get the hell out of there to go unwind away from the arena. Which is probably why they allow the press into the dressing room so that they aren't trailing the players out into the parking lot.

I agree. I thought the team was given time after games and the media is only allowed in once told the players are available. It's not as if as soon as the game is over the media gets to watch them shower.

Cathal Kelly somewhat captures my sentiments. If you haven't read it, read it.

Duncan Keith’s dismissal of female sports reporter after Blackhawks loss to Canucks actually shows equality in locker rooms: Kelly | Toronto Star

I agree with athletes that call out reporters for dumb questions, ain't like reporters dont have carte blanche to do the same to them, and they do.

So who was it that started the whole sexist debate anyhow? Clearly it was an issue in the media before Saturdays game. So let's forget cherry reaction... Who brought it to this end I the first place?

The only real issue is that women have every right to pursue a career as a sports reporter, and not being allowed to do so in locker rooms would put them at a disadvantage. If men were not allowed to enter the locker rooms of women athletes, it would not negatively impact their career. Look at the sports coverage out there. I imagine that teams in any women's league would welcome male reporters if it came along with the kind of coverage that male teams get. Instead we get a big deal being made of a soccer player lifting her jersey to reveal a sports bra when one of the biggest moments in that sport happens. Woman is the nigger of the world. John Lennon was correct. And Don Cherry is happy to assert the privilege he was born with, like a gold plated shit-gibbon, for as long as he has air to fill his foul lungs.

I was responding to the issue as a whole as Cherry was trying to define it. No reporters in there would be fine. I don't think Cherry was coming from that kind of a position though.
