Its a smokers right to be able to smoke, if people dont like it they can turn away.
Shitting is natural bodily function that is necessary for all humans.

Smoking is a disgusting habit that is highly addictive and extremely unhealthy.

If you need further clarification, I would welcome the opportunity to come to your humble abode and shit on your cigarettes.

no actually they are carcinogens in a box, sold for huge profits by people who have done everything possible to make them as addictive as possible. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there isn't a problem with people needing a fix of air pollution.

I've seen people die from cigarette addiction, and I've seen the same people do everything they could to stop from being killed by it, to no avail. It's nice that someone is standing up for the right of people like that to "choose" to fall prey to such a situation. There is so little choice involved it isn't even funny.

Oddly enough, what I've heard from most smokers since laws tightened up, is that it's made them realize how pathetically addicted they are to these things. They realize it is not about enjoying smoking at all, or choosing to smoke for the enjoyment. When it is 40 below and you can't stop yourself from walking out into a winter hellscape to catch a quick puff, it sort of says something to most people. Rationalization might work for a while, but eventually the obvious is going to become literally painfully obvious, and hopefully the addiction won't have sunk it's teeth into you to the point of no return.

Cigarettes are just so horrible. I would like to say I have a big problem with anyone profiting off of poison, and therefore booze even should be illegal.

But I drink, I got some 12 year Glenlivet for my birthday and I'll enjoy sipping it for a month or so. Cigarettes however are pure shit, and that is where the only connection between cigarettes and shit exist. Is the smell. However few people if any are highly addicted to eating feces, but cigarettes are just ridiculously addictive. I see it first hand and it's just so hard for me to accept it but it just is a nearly-impossible addiction for some people to break or replace.

The allowance to smoke versus the right to smoke in someone's face where it's harmful are two very different things.
therein is my beef.

Fine, you dont want to be near smoke, I coould care less, but there are people like me who dont mind it. I cant even start up a bar just for smokers, I cant add a room on my restaurant with giant industrial fans that draw any smoke directly out.

And before you say about waiters etc having to be around it they can get another job, there are alot of jobs hazardous to ones health.

And I sell insurance, i am a smoker, but just the same I go to ALOT of houses in which the occupants smoke. So I guess they might as well make it so you cant do it in your house either.

sure. comeon over.

And smoking is the same as anything, it needs to be done in moderation.

Someone smoking a pack and a half a day is no different in terms of hazardous health as eating 2 meals a day at a fast food joint, or drinking 6 beers.

I have known of people living to 100 drinking and smoking everyday and have seen people at 35 years of age, exercising everyday, eating right droppiung dead.

I think I'm actually with Snooch on this one but not in the angry crazy way haha

I think what he is upset about is that there should be no law restricting his ability to smoke on private grounds. I agree.

I fucking hate smoking, I hate it so god damn much. Fact of the matter is when it comes to private establishments, they should be able to make them smoking or non-smoking at their discretion.

If "non-smoking" was so great than it would be a natural business move and should not have been legislated. Just because the law works in my favour doesn't mean I agree with it.

As for making smoking illegal itself, bad choice. You just provide crime outfits with more ways to generate profits for themselves and expand their business. Additionally you lose quality control over the product and who it is sold to. For the same reasons I believe illegal drugs should be made legal, cigarettes should remain legal.

To continue on said rant as for the actual packaging, I am in favour of it. I believe that there is a hidden quantitive benefit in that it would prevent children from starting to smoke. I think it has little to no effect on those who currently smoke.

How do you measure those that the label has prevented from smoking?

We have done a GREAT job in North America of beating smoking but it's funny how popular it still is in other parts of the world. I was traveling with an australian in Europe this summer and EVERYONE was smoking and he turns to me and says:

"Why are all these people smoking? Did they not get the memo on that one?"

Why oh why isn't the talk against drinking as loud as talk against smoking when it's far
worse in every possible way?

There's no way you can win this debate. Restrictions have to be made and met when what you're doing can negatively affect certain people, and rightfully so.
