I would stay away from Acie...I just saw this picture on his facebook, of him in the airport when he got back from Mexico.

I agree, but the prospect of everything we've accumulated, like memories, being extiguished for eternity, is a difficult thing for me to come to terms with.

It's scary as well. When I had my heart thing in December, I actually thought I was about to die. This was real and it was scary. I think it's that way for everyone lucid enough to know - or think, in my case - that the end is here. Most people don't experience that until they're old.

i can say, without any hesitation, that 99 times out of 100 i'd rather be physically, mentally and emotionally scarred than dead.

How many people do we know that didn't make it out of their teens or early twenties? I mean even I almost drown in Lake Erie when I was 10.

Man, I know it's easier said than done, but you can't dwell on things that are out of your control or you will drive yourself crazy.

i almost drown when i was 10 too....
my brother kept me afloat for a few precious seconds, then the life guard jumped in and saved me...
after i got back to the deck, i just ran off and went off to play again....
death happens and theres nothing we can do about it.
just the time it took you to read this post, 19 people just died in the world.

did that effect you?

i feel sorry for you then, fearing death must suck, because it is inevitable. Going thru your whole life in pain is alot worse then death.

i'm not saying i'm scared of it, i'm saying i'd rather be alive with scars than dead. there aren't a lot of options after death.

but go on feeling sorry for me if it helps you maintain your balance on that high horse.

i dont care what anyone says on the matter of death...
everyone is afraid to die. and if you deny that, then you are lying.
its just how well you handle it or how well you accept it.

You couldn't be more wrong Ugo .... my wife has had severe chronic pain for years to the point where it's left her debilitated and she'll never work again. She's pretty much been retired since she was 25 because of it too. I can tell you that although life can be a struggle because of the pain, she'll take the pain any day over death.

How does she know that Dr.?? She doesnt know what death is, she just has a pre-concieved idea of what death is, it's illogical, just fearing the unknown, even if it's nothing, we cant even percieve what nothing is, but a fact is, energy never dies, and we produce energy, it doesnt just disappear, im not worried about it, the only thing i care about is i dont wanna die before i see my kids succeed, but i dont fear the actual dying part, esp if i see them succeed 1st, ill die with a smile.

I am scared of dying as well but I have accepted the fact that one day you will die and you never know when that day will come, so I tend to not worry about death as much but I occasionaly have a thought about it
