Default blackout!

anyone here effected by the blackout last night? it was freezing in my house when i got up this morning. had to drain all the water from the house and find a way to keep the dog warm while i'm at work. crazy stuff for some of us downtown. the ridiculous thing is that i think by now my fridge is the warmest place in the house, but i can't open the door to let in the cold in case the heat comes back on while i'm at work. lovely...

Ugh .... shitty time for the power to go out. Some of the coldest weather we've had in years.

Yep.

The power was out aallll night, starting at around 9:30. We froze.

It came back on at about 8, but my house is still around 0 degrees. I'm an icicle.

Hope SJ is happy and warm in his office downtown. Lucky.

Parkdale. Between Queen West & Dundas West...Near Dufferin.

Others had their power on before we did, so I'm sure yours is. I think everyone's is now.

It was all of the West end.

Shit.

On the radio this morning, they were talking about that. Before my power came on. They said it'd be 24 hours minimum, so we were gearing up for the worst. Then we heard that some people had power already. Ours came on not long after.

Do you have anywhere warm to go if it DOES last that long?

Hahaha... We Parkdaliens are very happy for that.

POWER to the people, indeed.

I used to live at 24 Noble, in the lofts. Wee! I miss it.

i only wish. my dog would actually function pretty well at work because he's quite calm and well-trained, but we just can't have that here. people come to our office to feel safe, and lots of people don't feel safe with 75 pound dogs, so it's right out.
