I'm the same way CG although I don't sleep with a window open, but with a fan on every night. I can't stand it when I'm hot in bed. Can't sleep.

I can't stand any noise personally. A fan makes too much. If I can't open a window, I turn off the heat completely.

I'm the exact opposite ... I have to have a constant soothing sound in the background. I can't sleep in pure silence.

It would never work between us CG.

Parkdale representin' up in this shiz.

When I moved to Parkdale in 1997 (I lived at College & Bathurst when I moved from St.Shithole to attend OCA), it had a really bad rep - with the drugs and the hookers. Real estate was super cheap and I found a loft. I remember the spring night I walked down to check out the building. I was a little scared from what I'd heard and walking past the mental health complex was a little daunting, but I fell in love with the neighbourhood right then and there. The cultural mix, the trashy convenience stores, the characters - like the shemale hooker who would ply her/his trade outside what is now the Candy Factory Lofts and who looked like some crazed, anime superstar - it was awesome. I loved living there. I drive through with the girlfriend every once and a while and we stop and go for a stroll. Parts of it have gentrifically (not a word, but screw it) changed, but the spirit's still there.

I lived at King & Dufferin but shortly moved to Southside Regent Park. Honestly Regent Park seemed more scary to me.

But I'm not here to talk about "hoods". My first every Raptors, Leafs, and Jays experience was thanks to Regent Park Duke of York P.S they were given a "shitload" of tickets for all 3 teams and my teacher just handed them out as if it was homework.

Yeah, my point was Parkdale wasn't scary at all. Now, come freshen my couch.

Yeah I blame the media for bad publicity.

But you know the saying no publicity is bad publicity!

The word most people are using for P-dale now is 'eclectic'. (Also, 'trendy', and 'up and coming', but those bug me).

We live in a family neighbourhood with artists an musicians everywhere. Great people.

But if you go a few blocks on way, or the other, there's the crackheads.

That's just how it is.

You can't NOT love Parkdale.

Oy Kris! Love your avatar, dear! You're gorgeous! Just one question - how tall are you?

Actually 2 questions - can I have some of your height? I am somewhat lacking in that department!

Ha, I think we're confusing people cuz we're both Kris.

And thank you, you're very sweet. Gosh.

I'm 5' 8". Those heels made a difference, though.

And of course you can have some of my height! It's overrated.
