Default Beer For Dogs

I honestly only heard about this recently on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien". But, I googled it and found this article about a dr. making a non-alcoholic beer for dogs. She lives in the Netherlands and has been doing it since 2007.

Quote:
Benito, a 5-year-old Chihuahua, drinks beer from a bowl in the southern town of Hulst, Netherlands, Sunday Jan. 21, 2007. Terrie Berenden, a pet shop owner in the town of Zelhem created a non-alcoholic beer for her Weimaraner dog made from beef extract and malt, and consigned a local brewery to make and bottle the beer, called Kwispelbier, after the word "kwispel", which is Dutch for wagging a tail.

The beer is fit for human consumption, Berenden said. But at euro1.65 ($2.14) a bottle, it's about four times more expensive than a Heineken.

Maybe, they are just recently doing it in the states and that's why Conan mentioned it. Who Knows?

Anybody else heard about this?

I think it's cool too bad it can't really get the dog drunk(at least i don't think) cause that would be funny.

$2.14 is expensive because to me it sounds like they just soaked meat in root beer for a few hours and then took the meat out.

It's Non-Alcoholic because alcohol and carbon or w/e that are the main ingredients in beer are harmful to dogs.

sure debbie, but so is buying yourself a beer, pop or anything that isn't milk or water.

i'd buy my dog a can of it as a treat. it's made from beef extract as well, so it'll most likely have a source of protein in it.

Actually, you don't need milk.

Name me one other animal that drinks another animal's milk?

What?

They don't all drink cows milk other than cows.

Also, it's really bad to give a kitten or any cat for that matter cow's milk.
