i have to agree.
i use my cell all the time when i'm driving, but still totally agree with the law.

its kinda like the seatbelt law when that passed a loooooong time ago.
people didnt like it, but knew it was for the better.
and now everyone (over 95% of people wear seatbelts; its like second nature when jumping into the car).
hopefully the same will be said about cell phones.

GPS aren't banned ... they just have to be in there holder when driving. If GPS' were banned then manufactures who install them in new cars would have to remove them too.

I agree with the cell and such especially when people are fiddling with them all the time while driving.

How about those with iPods. Alot of people don't have them built into their stereo systems. I've read some complaints that its no different than tuning into a radio station. Is it taking the law too far?

And re: cellphones, I agree 100%. God knows how many times I've almost been hit.

Agreed..although I'm one of those guys that texts and drives - i'm always looking up when I do text. You need 2 hands on the wheel..or at least be alert.

If I had I dime for everytime I was behind a moron not paying attention because they were on their phone either talking or texting, I'd have enough money to buy....well, a really nice phone myself.

Can we also ban women from putting on makeup while their driving and old men from wearing hats?

People just need to learn how to drive.

Fuck, my phone has a speaker on it, no problems talking and driving.
Who hasnt had a coffee while driving, or, OH MY GOD, at fries and a burger.
Listen to music all the time, change radio stations, cd's etc.

I see lots of other drivers doing that too, no problems.

The biggest problem is old people and stupid people.
People not knowing where they are going and jamming on brakes and turning suddenly, switching lanes unexpetedly, etc.

Some people shouldnt use cellphones while driving, the same as some people shouldnt walk and chew gum at the same time.

NOTHING makes me angrier than being behind (or in front) or a woman driving her car while doing makeup. Holy shit.

I'm a chick. I wear makeup. I can't even imagine doing that.

Once I was behind a girl putting on mascara while driving... meaning that her eyes were off the road, hands off the wheel, and paying more attention to making sure that her makeup is applied nicely instead of paying attention to the kids she almost ran over.

Should be illegal. Is it?

But 5-0 won't pull her over for that. if there's a ban on cell phones, there should be a ban on eating while driving, consuming beverages, and putting on makeup. Where do you draw the line?
But like Snooch said, there are dumb people out there. A lot of people who don't know how to drive. If you made people taking a driving test every 5 years when they re-up their license, you would see better drivers out there.

Don't forget smokers?

I love it when their discarded butt flies out their window and hits my windshield.
