Ashley Madison

My friend told me about this business/website called 'Ashley Madison'. Apparently this is a site that promotes extra-marital affairs and cheating. Yeah that's right: if you're unhappily married, you can hit up this website and pathetically try to score with someone in the same predicament!

Anyone see something the matter here?

I have so many problems with this 'business' it isn't funny. It is just wrong on so many levels.

They were in the news recently because they wanted to be advertised on TTC streetcars. One slogan was "Life is too short. Have an affair". (TTC turned them down because of common sense).

Anyone else hear about this?

Barracuda 12-15-2009 10:12 AM

YES!

I've gotten into many debates and discussions about this place. I even saw a thing on TV where they say that these places are GOOD for marriages.

Honestly?

Makes me sick.

Wha?
How do they figure?

I'm really curious to hear their 'reasons'.

Barracuda 12-15-2009 10:24 AM

I had to turn the TV off.

There are books that people wrote about how Ashley Madison and cheating in general are good for marriages. It's like an outlet, or something. Someone said that "men who cheat on their wives often end up with a renewed sense of appreciation for them".

They go screw random chicks, then appreciate that they have someone at home who loves them and cooks for them (and is oblivious).

I'll see if I can find the book titles...

uugggh. That couldn't be anymore backwards.

I'm surprised that you're just hearing about this now fancy.... that company's been around for a few years now...

I try not to wish bad things on anyone... but the guy who created that site should get hit by a bus. Apparently he's "happily married" too and has never cheated.

Barracuda 12-15-2009 10:31 AM

My thoughts exactly.

Barracuda 12-15-2009 10:34 AM

So, I have a blog. And other people with blogs come to my site.

This guy stopped by a few times last year : Ashley and Me

A big Ashley fan. He has a blog about all the girls he cheats on his wife with. Real stand-up guy.:sigh:

Benzo 12-15-2009 10:36 AM

Its been around forever....They accually just offered Tiger a Million dollar sponsorship deal

Acie 12-15-2009 10:37 AM

Totally ridiculous.

Like I need a service to help me find a chick to cheat on my wife with.

Don't worry this 'Ashley Madison' is not going to be successful in the long run, since they are promoting sex, and that is against the DEPOPULATION agenda set forth by the Jesuit Order that runs this world since they want less babies born and are pro-abortion by all means.

What can be successful is have a pill like Viagra, it encourages sex Yes, but the kicker is that when babies are born from men and women taking viagra, they are born with chronic disabilities or have some form of sexual impairment, so 2 generations later the gene pool will be killed or at least narrowed down through the birth of Less babies. I know i know they won't report this side effect on Viagra, why would they? Also if the side effect is a long term effect like it takes place the next generation, then the drug company Pfizer will be safe down the line from any legal repercussions since i think there is a 0.1% chance of tracing the birth defects all the way to the Viagra taken. It never has happened before in history so I doubt it will happen any time soon.

i have a friend who uses this site (he's single by the way), and he says its a goldmine.
he has a profile and says the women on this site just want sex, sex, and more sex... a typical encounter involves him messaging a woman (or vice versa), the 2 of them deciding on a meeting place (usually a hotel)... a bit of small talk, then bumping uglies.

IMO, the site is horrible... and to think the guy who created it is a multi millionaire.
the way they advertise cheating is deplorable... they advertise it so matter-of-factly and non-chalantly as if having an afair is normal, and its like eating breakfast, its so easy and everybody does it.

i realize that cheating is a part of nature, but things like this, and people who make money off of it and push it in our faces like this are scum.

People who have cheated in past relationships shouldn't throw stones.

Is it morally wrong? Sure. But a person who wants to cheat will cheat. Website or not.

Agreed and a website like this one will stick around. Apparently this company has a tentative deal with the TTC to drape a couple of Buses and streetcars with ashley madison adds. Now know the City of Toronto is a very Socialist thinking city I would think the ads won't make it on the bus.

However; wouldn't it be great if your son little billy sees that ad and asks you what its about. LOL

True.

We're just saying that it's awful to have a site that's target is to PROMOTE that and make it seem like a normal, accepted thing.

And it DOES make it easier for some guys (or girls - are there guys on there?).

MetaLRasaM 12-15-2009 11:27 AM

I first heard about this when TTC rejected their ads.

I have to say, I was really tempted to try it, but no way I would pay 250 for it. No matter if it's guaranteed.

Also, I tend to get laid on regular basis, so that isn't the problem, but I have to say, as shallow as it sounds, sleeping with a girl who has a BF is a hugeeeeeee turn-on for me.

Married, I don't know, it seems too "real". Especially if they have kids, I don't think I can't do that, that's just fucked up. But yeah...

I've had my share of girls with BFs, and they all were insane, and pretty good in bed...and the whole cheating part of it really spiced things up...but I've never cheated on any of my GFs. Does that make a better person?

I work at a radio station, and people from Ashley Madison have called me to write scripts for them. They've called because they want to advertise with us, and they want some of us to voice scripts, etc.

Ugh.

HAHA wouldn't it be great to brand yourself with a company that flourishes like Ashley Madison?

Also, wouldn't tiger woods be the best spokesman for this company. THey should just offer him a deal and hope it gets leaked.

It could make it easier, but so does pretty much every dating website out there (aside from eHarmony). Lavalife has an 'intimate encounters' section, and Plenty Of Fish has a category for people to check off looking for a 'casual encounter'..and it's pretty easy to hook up with people from those sites.
Ashley Madison gets a pretty bad rap because it's all they cater to, but other sites do it too and you don't hear anything about it. Hell, lavalife had ads a few years ago about it and it really wasn't scrutinized the way Ashley Madison is.
