So I'm taking that as a no then...

Dark Knight 12-09-2010 08:29 PM

Well now I'm curious, why do you think believing in God is a "plague upon human development"?

halphbreedballer 12-09-2010 08:30 PM

Everyone has the right to believe what ever they want, for me it's all about how you treat each other as human beings.

huge topic. very many reasons. better suited to the podium or via pm. basically because it restricts inquiry, is unprovable and uninteresting, no religion has any claim to truth, all are obviously full of falsehoods, religious education is indoctrination and not a process of leading people towards inquiry, religions make false claims about ownership of 'good', and all are based on 'us and them', which only serves to create divisions.

if you really want to get in to this, pm me. i don't think too many people here want me to start spouting off on religion again.

I agree, you don't need to go to church to treat another human being right, but I wouldn't exactly call going to church a waste of time. Its more than just a bunch of singing and Bible verses. You learn some life lessons as well, which is never a waste of time in my eyes.

Lol nah it's alright. Just curious is all but we don't need to get too far into this topic.

Anyway, Go Solomon! :dancing:

You'd be surprised at the stuff you learn in Sunday School. :haha:

Honestly, off the top of my head, not many lessons come to mind. Stuff like treating your neighbor with respect is one that I can think of that I would be able to learn outside of church.

But trane, do you celebrate Christmas? Easter?

fresh n' spicy 12-09-2010 08:44 PM

what does christmas and easter have to do with going to church on a regular basis :confused2:

brianso 12-09-2010 08:45 PM

Im not religious at all but you guys should stop knocking on the freedom to believe in what you want to believe in.
