I'm from the Netherlands and have been a raps fan ever since I first found out about their existence. Playing NBA Live '99 with my fav raps Willis, J. Wallace and Tmac (lol). Being a dino addicted boy at the time, I immediately fell in love with the team's name, mascot and colors!! The following year Vince came in and thing got really exciting. And the rest is history! I didn't get to watch many raps games over here in Holland, but now having found out about streaming, that's history too!

I apologize in advance for my bad English! Let's go Raptors!
Welcome!

Where in Netherlands are you from? I have a friend in Enschede and visited for a couple days.

Thanks! You visited Enschede? LOL, there's not much to see around there, is it? I hope you went to visit Amsterdam and cities like that, much more tourist friendly. Me I'm from Brabant which is the south of Holland. But with a country the size of a poststamp, there's not that much difference!

You know I actually have some far relatives in Canada. They came over one time when I was 14 or something, and of course I immediately showed them my purple '00 Carter jersey. They were so surprised! It's funny being a Raps fan from Holland, but there aren't many of us here I guess...

Haha nice try! But no I'm not that much into soccer/football. But if I was I'd definitely be a PSV Eindhoven fan. I bet your friend is a FC Twente fanatic?? You know, when I was 11 I was the only boy in my class not part of the local soccer club in my village, instead I was already shooting hoops in my backyard! I never joined a team though as there were no bball clubs in my area... If only there were, I'd be the most succesful Dutch player in the league since Rik Smits!

I think you're the first Dutch person that doesn't like soccer
I never saw a basketball court there but you do have 2 NBA players (Francisco Elson and Dan Gadzuric)

I don't dislike soccer or anything, I just fell in love with basketball earlier! Basketball is not that big in Holland, not like it is in f.e. Lithuania. Few people here actually know the names Smits/Elson/Gadzuric. The national team is a joke. I think Elson retired, Gadzuric was in training camp with the Sixers this year I think, but didn't make it. I liked Gadzuric in his first years with the Bucks, he was super athletic and a fan favorite!

I remember now the Raps once drafted 7"3 Dutchy Remon van de Hare in the second round, perhaps they still own his draft rights?? He's in Europe somewhere, totally forgot about the dude... It seems Holland is only good for a handful of centers. :P

Thanks Fancylad haha. You know I never even saw the guy play, but somehow there's something so cool about that dude in that jersey. I love obscure Raptors players from those early days. I have a similar affection for Negele Knight, whatever happened to that guy??? I'm sure Zan was bad, but he couldn't have been Hoffa bad or Radojevic bad. Wasn't Tabak like the Nesterovic of the early days?

i don't think he was terrible, but i just remember him being not that great. Mind you my memories are probably far from reality as it was such a long time ago.

Hello everyone. Been lurking on this site for over 2 years now, and have decided to come out of the shadows and join what I think is the best Raptors fan community on the web. Looking forward to contributing! Go Raps!

Lol, I had to look that name up as I'm not that much into (kick)boxing!
I'm afraid he's not that well known in our country and neither is his sport!
Have you heard of Remy Bonjasky? He's a bit better known here.

Hi everybody,I joined the forum one year ago but i've only been reading the threads, not really contributing...
Well,I've been a Raptors fan since the 09-10 season, following all the games, staying awake at night(European time, damn) and being a zombie during the day because of that
Im a huge Bargnani fan, while watching the games,I mostly focus on what he's doing, and watching him on defense is frustrating as hell(that pick n roll hedge makes me want to destroy my pc).
This year,I had real playoff hopes for this team, but as the season progresses, its been tougher to stay positive, especially regarding Bargnani's role on this team.
Anyway,GO RAPS,there is still hope

Strange. I thought Aerts was a legend in the Netherlands.

Hey guys, glad to join the forum. I never knew this existed till someone on twitter followed me. I'm a crazy Raptors fan and do Vlogs after each game (also do them for the Lakers as well). You can follow me on twitter @seenismean!
