i believe that this is the inaugural day of pink, so the word is slowly starting to get out. it will take some time to catch on.

i think that sj's point refers to the fact that he works at a place where this might be a little more pertinent or on the top of people's minds.

It's interesting.

I just walked around and asked.

Nope.

Not a soul so far.

I wear pink all the time.

Being a victim of bullying when I was in high school, the more attention this issue gets, the better. High school was bad times. I detested teachers/parents when they would say, "high school is the best time of your life". I coach a free basketball session in Guelph for local kids in a poorer area of the city, and after one hour I could pick up on the kids that are the bullies and the ones that get bullied. It's a difficult scenario to deal with, but in the end, no guardian/teacher can do much good intervening, the bullied and/or their peers have to stand up for themselves.

A special kudos to 'trane for bringing this to our attention today. I wouldn't of heard of it otherwise.

I don't have anything pink, but I'd wear it today if I did.

Bullying angers me SO much. The ignorance of some people is just astounding.

Thing is..... a lot of the time, I don't think young kids realize that they are doing it. Which is one reason why it's great to see an initiative like this.

I got bullied in school because I was incredibly short and slight.

The lesson here is...have big children.

It would be amazing if this day could really take hold and raise awareness about bullying. Maybe sad sad stories like this one could be prevented......

Marry a tall woman!

Marry a serb!

Have big babies, and teach um to dribble when they are 2, shoot when they are 4.

Put them in Gymnastics at 5 to improve over all motor skills and agility, couple that with a healthy atitude and Hockey to teach them team play and toughness.

Make sure the child starts reading early, and have lots of slep overs woith other children from Gymnastics and hockey to socialize your child. Now you have a smart, funny, socially able, tall, big, talented kid who won't be bullied, will get a D1 fre ride to Duke, a great diploma (cuz you make his stay 4 years) and a chance at the NBA.

I got bullied because young girls are horrible awful people who prey on smarter, shy girls.

Ugh. I'd never go back to that age.

Biggest guy in my elementary school tried to bully me once, I grabbed the brick from the ground and hit him so hard in the face that I broke his jaw and he also lost several teeth... sure, I got lot of shit from parents and teachers but since then nobody bulled me... and I got stuck with 'Krazy Ivan' nickname.

In Grade 5 a guy kept hacking me in cosom hockey and I'd finally had enough and smashed him over the head with my stick. Unfortuantely, he was a lot larger than me and hung around the group that already were drinking, smoking and doing whatever else and they tortured me on and off after that for about three or four years. I ran into them years later in high school at a party when I had grown to be 6'2 175 and they couldn't have been any nicer to me.

They also all ended up in jail.

I got bullied all throughout junior school for being small and smart. Still hate both junior and senior school.
