Exclamation IMPORTANT Re: Blogs, Newspaper Sources & Forum Policies

Recently it has come to out attention that some people in the "blogger space" of the Raptor world have become upset with some of our practices, when linking and posting blogs, and have threatened to shut the entire website down with legal action (I kid you not). It has always been our intention here to cross promote in the ever growing Raptor on-line world.

In short, from now on when linking and referencing, articles from newspapers, and/or blogs please just post a paragraph or 2 and then post the link so we can help our community but providing clicks to their websites. This is something we should do and are happy to do.

We will also work from this point forward to promote people we consider "friends" of the site, those that don't go on drunken rants in emails throwing around insults at people who have worked far to long to be insulted by someone who gets his panties in a bunch because he is not getting enough clicks on his website from us when most of the world doesn't care nor know that he exists.

So if you can, please just post a paragraph of the article and then the link so we can help our friends in cyberspace.....most of them anyway.

-Benzo

Sounds good to me.

We should probably add that we will edit anyone's posts that fail to adhere to this new policy and after several warnings repeat offenders will banned indefinitely.

Thanks Benzo and Acie for making everyone aware of this.

We are going to be running a much tighter ship from here on out. From things such as referring to fellow blogs & articles to the unacceptable behaviour of various members here at the site over the last number of months.

Because RaptorsForum is considered by most as an "elitist" forum, we might as well act like the shoe fits. From now on being a member here WILL become a privilege. We're tired and fed-up of the petty bullshit that certain members have gotten away with time and time again. So, whether we've known you 1 minute or 10 years, it will not be tolerated anymore. No more will favourites take priority over new members. Everyone's on the same playing surface.

We realize that this might affect our membership and readership in the long run, but we've come to realize that we'll never be like RealGM. If people want disrespect the staff and their peers constantly here at RF, they can move on elsewhere or the RF staff will help assist you to find another home where that behaviour is tolerated.

Warnings are now to the discretion of the staff. Clearly our "3 strikes & your out" policy hasn't worked over this last year, so from here on out you may get a warning or you may find yourself banned from the site. With a new season upon us, we do not have enough time to sift through bullshit on daily basis when activity will be busy and new members will be joining.

So, all I ask if for everyone here to respect one another. This isn't daycare for adults, but it certainly has felt like that for a couple years now. If you comply to respecting your peers then you won't have a problem here. If you don't want to or continue to find yourself walking that fine line you may find yourself banish from RaptorsForum for good.

No need to be scared A00, we just need a little order here and also to respect the rights of other blogs and media types. Doesn't matter what site you quote or refer too, only a paragraph or two can be quoted. It'll keep us safe from being sued or shutdown.

The behaviour part is something we want to monitor more here because over the last number of months we've been bombarded with supreme douchebags who show no respect to the staff as well the members here. So far, we banned 3 or 4 people in the last couple days because of unacceptable pompous attitude. We'll ease up in a little bit but are using these most recent guys that have been banned as examples that if you act like knobs then you can find another forum to annoy people.

We anticipate an very active forum in about another month from now with the start of the season, so having to babysit a bunch of members that continue to challenge staff and go against the grain will only take away from the quality of the site. Hopefully everyone understand that we're doing this for the better of the forum and not just a bunch of mods and admins abusing their powers.

Well said Doc. I'm almost giddy thinking about all of the people I can ban. Last time I did it, it was a major event. Marge, go get me my gun.
