Now i just flat out don't care. All the changes to the game - the shifting of great hockey teams to joke markets, have killed it for me.
my interest is completely non-existant which all the more causes me to shake my head at the amount of media coverage the NHL gets here in Canada. TSN is 80% hockey during Off the record, with is then followed by 90% hockey on their sportscentre show, which is then followed by a full half hour hockey analysis show, which is then followed be a half hour pregame show for a hockey game, which is then followed by the actual hockey game.
HOLY SHIT!!!! enough already.
and sportsnet. Hockey panels and hockey discussion followed by poker or ultimate fighting and then more hockey analysis,

I totally agree though even though it is a tad offtopic. The thing that really turned me off on hockey was the introduction of the shootout. Now I really am on the fence about an actual shootout but its that dumb point they give to the losing team that really really really annoys me. That new rule was the straw that broke the camels back for me.
I am happy to say I haven't watched one full NHL game this year. I don't even think I made it through a period yet.
