This entire topic is very interesting. I feel as if the Raptors really screwed themselves & screwed basketball in Canada significantly. If this team had any sort of success in their 20 years of existence, i wonder how much more popular they would have been all across Canada. I don't think basketball or any sport can ever overtake hockey. Hockey's ingrained in our culture; its a tradition. Our fathers watched it, our fathers fathers watched it & passed it along throughout generations. Maybe that also happens in basketball if there was any success. Something of the sort happened with Andrew Wiggins. It happened with the Blue Jays after they won a couple of world series. The next 10-20 years could be interesting if MLSE can take care of the Leafs as well as the Raps.
