Thumbs down Bieber allegedly abusive to jet staff

Quote:
Trouble continues to follow Justin Bieber, with an airline incident report stating that the Canadian pop star and his entourage harassed and were abusive to staff aboard a private jet last week.

After a private flight aboard a Gulfstream IV jet from Waterloo, Ont., to Teterboro, N.J., on Friday, the 19-year-old singer was met by U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Teterboro Airport where he was questioned and later released.

How Justin Bieber could clean up his act
According to the air crew's incident report, which was obtained and made public by NBC News this week, the flight attendant stated that the passengers including Bieber and his father, Jeremy Bieber "were extremely abusive verbally and she would not work another flight with them."

The flight's captain said in the report that he warned passengers several times to stop smoking marijuana and to stop harassing the attendant. He eventually "asked the flight attendant to stay with him near the cockpit to avoid any further abuse."

Bieber's antics, a sign of the crushing power of fame?
On Friday, media reports noted that U.S. customs authorities held the plane for a few hours after noting a strong odour of marijuana upon landing. However, drug-sniffing dogs ultimately failed to find any on board.

During questioning, Bieber admitted to smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol, but stated he had no additional marijuana. The flight crew declined filing charges against Bieber or his passengers.

DEA officials, customs officers and Meridian Air Charter, the aviation company responsible for the flight, declined comment.

The incident comes amid an already tumultuous new year for the pop star, who was charged with assault (over a late-December incident) in Toronto last week and was arrested in Miami Beach for driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving with an expired licence the week earlier. In mid-January, Los Angeles Sheriff's Department detectives raided Bieber's California home looking for evidence in an egg-tossing vandalism case brought by a neighbour. Police found drugs and arrested an associate of the singer's during their search.

The rash of incidents prompted a Whitehouse.gov petition urging the singer's deportation from the U.S.
