Like I said.. it would be nice to aim higher than a total donkey!
When Colangelo first came in, the Raptors
struggled, but he came in with the win now mentality. Masai on the other hand said it differently when he got here this season.
I thought Colangelo did a decent job. In the 2006 draft, the 3 players who couldve gone as the 1st overall was Bargs, Aldridge and Tyrus Thomas. Adlridge and Thomas had a lot of criticism and Bargs
was also projected to be fairly decent. Gay on the other hand went 8th and Houston was widely criticized right after for picking someone who was still an immature player. No one thought that Roy and Rondo would become the players they are today. Thus Bargnani
was the way to go. Bargs
was pretty good his 1st year as a rookie coming off the bench. The only downside was that Bargnani
was too high on Bargnani
and did not want to trade him.
The moves he did were when Bosh
was where, Oneal, Turkoglu all looked like really good trades but it didnt turn out well and he quickly traded them away for expiring contracts Marion and Barbaosa. His signings were questionable since he just went with whatever he could get.
In the end Ill say he took the risk to help keep Bosh
happy with the various scenarios he did, but it didnt turn out well. Dont forget that when we had JO who was supposedly healthy, we were rated as one of the top east teams
