I hate to be sacrilege, but Wilt had this record and his 100 points because there were no goal-tending rules. He was the first seven footer that had any skills and just went over every one and cleaned up EVERYTHING...including balls on the rim (I'm guessing JV is missing those days too).
His records should have an asterisks. Or at least have pre-goaltending rules and post. Just like they have pre-shotclock records.
