While nothing is wrong with Casey says here, it's what's expected to come. This basically Casey saying that Ross is on a short leash, and should he mess up, he'll get less minutes. While they're isn't anything necessarily wrong with that, with young players you have to be more lenient when they make mistakes. Casey is not, and expects his young players to play like instant veterans when they've yet to learn to play like they're expected. And how does one learn to play like that? By getting minutes and being able to play through mistakes.
It isn't about mistakes. The leash will be for lack of effort and not competing. The mistakes happen with every player. The effort and aggressive playing need to be there.
