There are a couple of ways to create buzz by 2016. Either pick up stud draft picks a la OKC and have people dreaming about what they will become some day or go ahead and become a contender through management moves.
If they play that tough stretch of games and come out above .500, he may be stuck. How does Ujiri spin the "I'm a karma guy and you have to always try to win", if you trade guys on a team that is winning?
Having said that, in his own quiet moments, I don't think he thinks this team can dominate, so he is waiting to see who's coming along to Disneyland when they make heir big splash :jv: and who is getting shipped to Minnesota. :gay:
If they overachieve the assets will be that much more valuable. It won't mean that ujiri won't be able to make trades. It will mean that he can get more of what he wants out of those trades. That's not being stuck at all. It gives him a real chance to do his job. He will have to be patient and smart and maximize those assets.
