Our organization has been a bit of a mess pretty much since VC left, so if a player doesn't want to sign here for that reason, that's one thing. But realistically, Toronto the city should have absolutely no problems attracting players.
there are several reasons they don't want to play here:
1) No history of winning
2) Perception of the taxes
3) Weather (although to me this one makes no sense)
4) Only non US team which doesn't get much/any exposure in US
5) Dealing with customs
I was glad when TL was hired and in one of his first interviews he stated most of these issues and essentially called them bullshit and that they need to be clear to NBA players and the league that it's bullshit. He even talked about getting players more clearance so that customs wasn't an issue.
