I have decided that I don't think much of Leo's acting chops. I think he was as big of a reason for me being so let down by the second half of Django as anything else. I thought he made it difficult for me to get into Inception. I love Scorcese, but the stuff he's done recently with Dicaprio just falls flat for me. I did enjoy Catch Me if You Can, and I think maybe it was because seeing him acting so plainly did not hurt the role. I just don't get a sense of any kinetic energy from him. It's all about pulling the arrow back as far as he can and holding the bow steady.
He was fairly generic in "Inception" but I loved him in Django. I enjoyed him in "The Aviator" and "The Departed" as well. There actually isn't a movie I can think of that I hated him in.
