If Amir was signed to like 4 years 20 million, not too many people would have been talking about his contract. Although, Amir hasn't really digressed, that extra 1-2 million dollars per year makes him a little less attractive as a trading chip.
Agreed, but in today's NBA when you can get MP for vet min and there are others too, overpaying by 2-4 million on this type can really add up and bind a team. Heck, the amnesty has cut loose some incredibly cheap talent too.
