If we did finish dead last, the chances that pick remains in the top 3 is approx 65%, which isn't that bad. But herein lies the problem: We're not bad enough to be the worst. Additionally, if we can't pick up wins against teams like Detroit and close out games in the 4th quarter time and time again we don't deserve to make it to the playoffs. Our record could have easily been close to or at 500 right now, but we couldn't get the job done. I would predict OKC getting a top 10 pick this year. I guess people that want the Raps to tank, take into account the pick is likely going to be around 10, figure it's better to tank and increase our odds to retain the pick. If the pick is 4-5th (which is worst case scenario), the tankers think it's not that bad because it's going to a Western conference team (OKC), we were compensated with Lowry already, and we gave ourselves the best odds of retaining the pick. On the other hand, others would say there’s still 70 games to go and although we might not make it to the playoffs, let’s try to finish strong and give up a 13th or so pick which won’t come back to haunt us.
What do you guys think?
