Calderon isn't pounding the rock because he wants to - he is pounding the rock because no play is being run, people are not moving without the ball (to set screens or to get open) and he has nowhere to go with the ball. Witness how quickly he was getting rid of the rock in the first and third quarters, when they were playing well and running and generally executing the offense. Yes, Calderon is a bad PG for constant ISOs with no plan further than to "break your man down off the dribble and see what happens next" - he won't do that for you, but he will run the set offence well so long as there is one.
