Everything was last minute and when Nash signed elsewhere the Raps moved on to Lowry and rather quickly.
If BC had done nothing regarding a Nash signing attempt, then look out, posters here would bash him for 'how could he' and 'what if' and 'because of BC we missed our chance at the playoffs' and blah blah blah
The ploy I was referring to was signing Fields in order to handcuff the Knicks. I half ways get the idea of going after Nash, but going to the extent of grabbing Fields at such a high price is beyond dumb. Even if they liked him and didn't consider it a risk. He just wasn't worth that contract. BC loves to try to look smart with deals like this, but it's just yet another sign of no blueprint being followed.
