Impossible no. However, his value has just decreased a lot. He had a lot of value in that if he were to be dealt, whatever team would acquire him could have more of a say in his contract. Now they don't have that. Really disappointing deal. Harden is definitely worth the max if DD gets that deal.
C'mon. Now he is under contract. Teams don't make deals worth shit when they have little idea what they will be getting long term. If they weren't going to be prepared to offer him 38 million as a rfa, then they were just going to be trading for a rental. There's not much value in that. Now if he shows anything, there will be a team or two willing to accept the price tag and be happy that he's locked up. And this means that much more can come back our way than before. How does a rookie contract do that?
