The whole contract is whack, because a guy that shoots that badly, and has that bad a year going into a contract signing, needs a crazy person to offer him anything like what he got here. The coach went into the offseason asking for shooters, and BC delivered him a guy that shot worse than anybody already here, and he overpayed to get him.
It might work out. But it was fucking dumb. There's no getting around it. I'm only happy that the scenario that might have been in play had the deal for Lowry not worked out, whereby Fields is used to help lure Lin to sign a crazy contract offer, did not play out. And there is room for hope that he rebounds well from a bad season.
