I, for one, will be sad to see Jose go. I do think we will be better off with Lowry long-term, but Jose was more than serviceable and a great contributor. At this point in his career, I think Jose is a better player, though he is clearly close to entering his twilight years, while Lowry still has yet to reach his full potential.
I think too much had been asked of Jose over the last few years, which meant that he could not play his natural game as a distributor. And while I like Dirk/Jose on the same team, I think he would still have to compete for minutes with Collison. Too bad the Lakers got Nash, Jose would have been great there, especially having played with Pau. Still, a much better fit for Jose in Dallas than here (if that's where he ends up).
