Default Injury Question Vol. IIII

I often ask the board as I know there are athletes on here, some previously spectacular athletes WHO PLAYED BALL(ie SJ) and some who have been there and done that with a variety of sports. That and I hate waiting an hour and a half in line for a walk in clinic for a doctor to tell me to take some tylenol and rest.

Anyways, the scoop this time is yesterday I was playing ball and some clown clotheslined me when I crossed him up causing my neck to go back really quickly. It didnt seem like anything at the time as I continued playing, but of course this morning I cant move my neck to the right. Its either a strain or pull.

I've heard that icing it is the best thing. I've heard to ice it then put a heating pad on it.

Anyone had this injury before? What should I do and how long(ie how long to ice it then take the ice off and put it back on for?)
