I respectfully disagree. Amir costs $6 mill next year, and the Bulls have Taj Gibson on the bench (similar size). Chicago has more use for Asik's big body than Amir. If Asik gets an offer of $7-7.5 mill, the Bulls might as well pay that to keep him rather than take Amir.
I forgot about Gibson, but Chicago could use Taj packaged with another player as trade bait for an adequate starting shooting guard (Mayo, for example), as Amir brings just as much as to the table as Gibson.
With Noah as their full-time center, they really don't need
a guy like Asik, although he's a good commodity for a winning team to have around, so I can't see them not matching any offer we throw at him.
