Golden State is likely in harcore tank mode right now. With the current injury situation of their roster, they almost certainly can't make the playoffs. More importantly, they still owe Utah a pick. For the 2012 draft, it's only top 7 protected. With their current record, the Warriors would lose the pick. They'd rather keep the 2012 pick and give away a less valuable pick in the future.

So, the Warriors need to fall behind some teams. If they are on the border of the bottom 7 near the end of the season, GS will sit Curry. They can justify it on the grounds of getting him healthy.

It might affect the Raps tank a little because, if Toronto keeps playing decent ball, we could be looking at 5-7th worst. Golden State could bump us back a spot. The tank will be strong in the bay area.
