its just an extremely tough spot for a GM... you want to keep your star happy, but you put the future of your franchise in jeopardy.
you trade away assets to get Nash (which would probably be future draft picks, Anderson, Reddick, or any combo) and then lose in the 1st or second round - because lets face it, even with Nash, Orlando isnt beating Miami or Chicago. then summer comes, and D12 bolts, Nash bolts, and your franchise is stuck with no assets, no picks, no future.
they're better off unloading him ASAP. I hate these high profile players with this much power.
