Re: how good NJ would be if they had D-Will and D12
1 -it's worth noting that NJ has already met their commitments to Utah for D-Will. The remaining pick that Utah receives will come from GS.
2- These are the assets NJ would probably have to give up to obtain D12. They might not all go to Orlando, if it's a multi-team deal. But these are the pieces that would probably leave:
-1st rounder from Houston still owed to NJ
-2012 1st rounder of NJ
-Expiring contracts of Humphries and Okur
Two respectable prospects + 2 picks + subtantial financial relief should be enough to get it done
3 - In this scenario, NJ manages to keep Anthony Morrow
4- Turkoglu probably goes to NJ with D12 as part of the financial relief.
So, NJ has a lineup of....
Not amazing but it's a start. They'd have a bit of cap space to fill out the bench with vets. And then they could build through the MLE the following season.
Within a year, I think they'd have a decent bench. Look how quickly Miami built a bench.
