Looks like Bargs
is finally getting the message about defense. I think before when Triano was at the helm he only knew how to play it one way because Triano wasn't a defensive specialist at any means. And thus Triano didn't have necessary tools to implement the kind of defensive mindset. Now with Casey, there are so many more options Bargs
has depending on the situation, the player, etc. I don't remember the last time Bargs
took a charge prior to this year, but this year he has taken a few already and been positioned well for them. That is the key, the positioning and being able to quickly read the offense. He is not a dumb player by any means, lazy probably a little bit, but as his defensive efficiency continues to improve, that's when players have more fun playing defense and he sees his overall game jump to a new level. Kudos to Casey for doing a hell of a job with Bargs
thus far, but even more kudos to Bargs
for buying in.
