I have always wondered what would happen if this have ever occurred. Since the 2011 draft it was a given that Cavs needed a PG and a C. Even though Varejao is getting the job done now, what would happen if they drafted Kyrie Irving and Jonas Valanciunas. But luckily that player fell to our hands at the 5th pick. Now in this case would we have traded our 5th pick going down to around 8th/9th and possibly grab Tristan Thompson or Kemba Walker. Tristan Thompson seems like a redundant player to Amir Davis and Ed Davis, but in the end this could of given us some flexibility. If we had Tristan Thompson, I would of imagine a Ed DAvis + Leandro for Rudy Gay/Andre Iguodala type trade. If we drafted Kemba Walker would Jose be amnestied?. Its clear that we wont be amnestying anyone this season but Calderon
is an expiring come next season where it would be a waste. The only person I see fit to this would of been Linas Kleiza. But if we did draft Kemba does that mean in the 2012 draft we grab an Anthony Davis type player, or we still aim for a SF with Jeremy Lamb/Harrison Barnes type player.
Now this brings me to the 2012 draft, its almost just 1 month into this short season so a lot of things could change.
Instead we have:
Jose Calderon/Jerryd Bayless
Demar DeRozan/Sonny Weems (I believe he will be coming back)
James Johnson/Gary Forbes
Andrea Bargnani/Amir Johnson
Jonas Valanciunas/Ed Davis
I see that as our ideal lineup going into the draft. Its still clear that we are in need of a PG/SF
Do you guys see Ed Davis or Bargnani
being traded this coming trade deadline or offseason for a 2nd lotto pick this year or in 2013 when more PGs come out.
Thoughts and comments with what you guys think would of happen
