That's what happens when you have coach from former Yugoslavia. Their philosophy is based on guard play and perimeter shooting. Combine that with shot first PG who is not good in pick and roll and Jonas is limited to whatever situations he creates for himself. Rytas is simply not utilizing his skills properly this year which leads to somewhat frustrating stat lines but at least he is playing through it and gaining experience. It is not going to be easier first year in NBA either, I doubt DeRozan, Bayless or Bargnani
will be looking to pass him the ball either, so he better learns how play solid man to man defense and to live from garbage around the basket - put backs, rebounds and hustle points. And he needs to stay healthy, eat well and hit weight room - I read that he was sick with some kind of flu for last coupe weeks or so and played through it.
