Default Let the Globalization of the Raptors begin

It's impressive to see the Raptor jersey selling so well in Europe.

Raptors jerseys a hot commodity in Europe

NEW YORK–Even though Toronto's NBA franchise held training camp in Canada this year, there are plenty of Raptors jerseys being spotted around Europe.

Toronto's Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon were among the top 10 most popular jerseys sold in Europe over the last year, according to numbers released by the NBA on Wednesday.

Bargnani, a forward from Italy, came in at No. 7 while Calderon, a guard from Spain, was 10th. The Raptors held training camp in Europe last season before playing pre-season games in Italy and Spain.

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant was No. 1, while Spanish teammate Pau Gasol was third.

Kevin Garnett of the NBA champion Boston Celtics was second, with Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James and San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, from France, rounding out the top five.

International players comprise 20 per cent of NBA rosters.
