Mason, Barret - both are options, not sure how easy it'd be to obtain them.
In fact, we need a temporary solution anyway, until Ford's status is clearer. There are two ways one would go about it:
1. Suppose that BC knows for a fact that Ford will return to his regular game shape sooner rather than later (say, by All-Star break). Then we need a stop-gap measure who could then, depending on how well he plays, stay with the team as a third-stringer through the playoffs, likely at the "expense" of Martin finally gone for good.
2. If, on the other hand, BC has some info that leads him to believe that Ford is not coming back this season (or at all) - then he has to look for a solid backup point guard, preferably a vet, who is capable of playing at least 15 minutes per game without the offence going into the crapper. Brevin Knight comes to mind, as an example.
Damon fits none of the above scenarios. And in either case, Ukic should be brought over here next year to finally be either deemed worthy of our long-term plans or to be discarded.
