Most hedonist I would believe think the opposite of that. In living life in pursuit of there own pleasure and self-gratification, it is more than easy to be mean spirited and manipulate others around you to achieve this self pleasure. If you mean that nothing feels better than giving then I agree.
Let me put it this way. When young, I was rather attracted to the sort of hedonism espoused by the 60's generation. What I discovered eventually was that indeed nothing feels better than giving, but more than just that - it does provide a bigger sense of the self and a sense of a person's place in the world. And I'm not talking about being saintly and giving up all worldly possessions, but rather just giving of yourself whenever possible.
