I think everyone has different circumstances that they face, and are inclined to face their circumstances in different ways. I don't know if there are a lot of conscious decisions that take such a totality into account. I know that when I was young and tried to grasp how I could move forward in my life, my feeling was to try to keep as many doors open as possible. But thinking a ton about which door or doors to pass through often left me somewhat frozen in place. It took a good trust in what instinctually compelled me to move forward without regrets, in spite of what inevitably is given up in that process, though not with the finality of closing doors before making choices.
So now you don't make decisions as you did when you were young? Either way though when you were young I would consider you as a conscientious person.
