What is the risk if the organization takes another year to see if Casey can try and cover up Bargsí deficiencies? You donít know what Casey can do until he actually tries. If next year shows that Bargs
simply canít work at all in any defensive scheme then you look to unload him. But, it seems silly to unload him at this point. Its not like the Raptors
are going to make the playoffs next year anyways.
There will be 96 minutes for bigs to be on the floor, likely to be allocated between 4 bigs. While Bargs
will start games at PF and not center, he will certainly play center for large parts of the game. With a dearth of great centers in the league, many teams simply rotate bigs after the starting center comes out (with traditional PFs often playing center for at least part of the game). There will be enough mins to go around (especially with Amir getting into foul trouble).
