I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. That would violate the rookie salary scale. That is, unless the rules are changed with the new CBA.
The buyout comes out of the rookie contract. The drafting team doesn't pay a dime more than they're obligated.
For example, for a $4.5 million per year contract, then in year 1 Jonas would keep $1.5 million and send $3 million to Lietuvos Rytas, after that he would get the full amount.
At least, that's how I think it works. If anyone has any better information then by all means enlighten me.
