Exactly. The main purpose of hiring a new coach is to bring a new philosophy to the club, have the players adjust to a new system, and to develop stronger fundamentals. Triano is a nice guy, but he's not a great NBA head coach. The players continue to make the same mistakes each and every game, and many of these mistakes are correctable.
The mistakes are definitely correctable and it's way easier to hire a new guy (with a new system) than to ask Triano to change his existing "system". I`m saying it`s easier because of the players that we have. The young core (and potentially some new faces) can learn and absorb a new system together
rather than having some guys adjust to changes while the new acquisitions are learning from scratch.
Plus there simply are better coaches available with respect to experience, wins, playoff appearances. I hope Bryan Colangelo's drafting philosophy--taking the best talent available--is also applied to picking a coach.
