What Cleveland's doing doesn't surprise me much. After the Baron Davis trade, a number of NBA analysts predicted it was just the first step in Gilbert's plan to do a "rich man's rebuild". That is, agree to take on other teams' shitty contracts, so long as they give you their picks as well.
This, ladies and gentleman, is why ownership can be more important than a GM during a rebuild. Portland knows.
Edit - If this happens, and Minny keeps the 4th and 8th picks without making any moves for vets, that will surprise me. I know it's Kahn, but even he's gotta realize he's got a shit load of prospects already. He could be cashing in some of his chips for a legit starting lineup.
