I think this is a reality any almost all professional sports. It's always been a race between chemists making drugs that can't be detected and governing bodies testing for newer drugs. When we look at the intensity of an 82 game regular season + playoffs + possible international play + rush to get back from injury, I doubt there are many stars who haven't taken some controversial add ons.
I read a really good article recently about this in soccer and about why we don't allow some type of drugs. There are so many ways that athletes can get an advantage legally where they still harm themselves in the long run, that it makes you wonder why we don't allow more enhancing drugs...
