Based on what is available to us, that's most likely correct. But Jones seems to be upset about "perception" of the organization. Also, perhaps he is upset that Peja didn't play and light it up from 3 for a few games while BC worked out an actual real trade. Funny thing is, trading him might not have helped the Raps if only shit contracts were available. Maybe BC didn't want to trade him, and also didn't want to pay his full salary on behalf of MLSE. It would be interesting to know if BC is mad at Jones and Smith for reporting the story this way. I wouldn't be surprised if BC thinks they are just attracting negative attention to the outcome.

Edit - on the other hand, this could be part of the spin related to the allegations that the Raps were involved in a side deal. Blame Peja! The Raps had no idea he was healthy enough to play and ready to sign with Dallas immediately!
