Another thing i don't get is i can't change or even see my photo names in iphoto. This is another issue i am having a hard time getting my head around.
How do you view and organize photos on your mac, thought?
you don't need to use the right-click option to show in finder. when you click on a photo in iphoto, there is a little box on the bottom left of the screen (i'm not at home right now so can't see it to describe it accurately). in this box you can choose the 'show file in finder' option and it will show you where all the pics are stored. it will also show you the file name, size, date, etc.
