the premise of this topic is wrong, there really is no problem
in fact, things could not go any better - our core pieces (demar, Bargnani
and davis) are improving nicely, we are competitive almost every night but lose enough games to be within shouting distance of a bottom 3 record.
a market like toronto can only improve through the draft and most will agree that nobody on this roster has a superstar ceiling. Therefore we need to keep drafting high picks hoping to strike gold, the sooner the better. Because the major risk with this team is that if we draft somebody good, we could become a playoff team next season, and we'd end up like atlanta or worse (indiana).
IMO we need at least two years of good drafting before it's safe to fight for the playoffs, I just hope MLSE and the fans have patience.
